Clash of Clans or COC (in short), brought out by Supercell, is quite a popular game.
It has a large player base, as well.
When a player starts playing the game, numerous questions come to the player's mind!
One of the most common questions is regarding the data usage of the game.
So, how much internet data does Clash of Clans use?
On average, Clash of Clans uses around 12-20 MB of internet data per hour, which is less than average for an online game.
Although the data usage per hour of the game might fluctuate, it generally stays under 25 MB.
Each attack in Clash of Clans consumes around 200KB to 1 MB on average. At times, it might be greater than 1 MB. But, it generally lies under the mark of 1.5 MB.
In this article, I've answered this question in more detail.
I have also answered another similar question that comes to a lot of COC players' minds!
So, without any further ado, let us dive right into it!
Internet Data Usage of Clash of Clans
To find the actual internet data usage of COC, I did some research.
At first, I installed the game on different devices.
Then, I played the game for around one hour at a stretch on each of the different devices.
After that, I monitored the data used by the game on every device.
I found out that the internet data usage of the game on the different devices was in the range of 8-18 MB per hour.
But, on the majority of the devices, the data used by the game in one hour was around 15 MB.
Therefore, we can conclude that the internet data usage of Clash of Clans is about 15 MB per hour.
From here, we can also calculate the internet data used by the game on a weekly or monthly basis!
If one plays COC for one hour every day for one week, the total data used would be around 105 MB in one week.
Similarly, if one plays the game for one hour every day for one month, the total data used by the game in one month would be around 450 MB.
Now, how much internet data does each attack in Clash of Clans use?
Each attack in Clash of Clans uses around 200 KB - 1.5 MB.
During the research, the attacks that I made, consumed around 450 KB each.
You might now want to know the data used by COC according to the duration for which you have played the game.
To help you figure out the same, I've prepared a table for you.
I've also done all the required math so that you don't have to!
Following is the required table:
Playtime per day | Data usage per day | Data usage per week | Data usage per month |
---|---|---|---|
1 hour | 15 MB | 105 MB | 450 MB |
2 hours | 30 MB | 210 MB | 900 MB |
3 hours | 45 MB | 315 MB | 1.31 GB |
4 hours | 60 MB | 420 MB | 1.75 GB |
5 hours | 75 MB | 525 MB | 2.19 GB |
6 hours | 90 MB | 630 MB | 2.63 GB |
7 hours | 105 MB | 735 MB | 3.07 GB |
Note: The data usage per hour of the game has been taken as 15 MB in the above table.
Does Clash of Clans use a LOT of Internet data?
Compared to other online games in the market, Clash of Clans relatively uses a lesser amount of internet data (around 15 MB per hour).
It provides a decent gaming experience, at the same time.
