Free Fire is quite a popular game and has got a large number of players as well.
When a player starts to play the game, one common question that comes into the player's mind is about the data usage of the game.
So, how much internet data does Free Fire actually use?
The average internet data usage of Free Fire is about 30-35 MB per hour, which is less than most of the other Battle Royale Games in the market.
The data usage of Free Fire per hour might vary depending on which game mode one is playing and for how much time one uses the voice chat. But, it generally stays under 50 MB per hour.
In this article, I've answered this particular question in more detail.
I've also covered some related questions that often come to the minds of most of the players!
So, without any further ado, let's start!
How much internet data does Free Fire use?
I did some research to check the data usage of Free Fire myself.
Firstly, I installed the game on different devices.
Then, I played Free Fire on all the devices for one hour at a stretch.
After doing so, I found out that the data usage per hour of Free Fire ranged between 28 to 35 megabytes in the different devices.
But, it was around 32 megabytes in the majority of the devices.
Thereby, we can conclude that if one plays the game for 1 hour, the internet data used would be around 32 MB.
If one plays the game for one hour every day in a week, the total data used would be about 224 MB in one week.
Similarly, if one plays Free Fire for one hour every day in a month, the total data consumed by the game would be about 960 MB in one month.
But, it is to be noted here that if one plays the game keeping the voice chat on, the data usage would be more.
The data usage might be around 50 MB per hour in such a case.
Now, to help you estimate the data used by Free Fire in different cases, I've made a table based on the same.
I've done the required math for you so that you can easily figure out the data used by the game on your own.
Following is the required table:
Playtime per day | Data usage per day | Data usage per week | Data usage per month |
---|---|---|---|
1 hour | 32 MB | 224 MB | 960 MB |
2 hours | 64 MB | 448 MB | 1.87 GB |
3 hours | 96 MB | 672 MB | 2.81 GB |
4 hours | 128 MB | 896 MB | 3.75 GB |
5 hours | 160 MB | 1.09 GB | 4.68 GB |
6 hours | 192 MB | 1.31 GB | 5.62 GB |
7 hours | 224 MB | 1.53 GB | 6.56 GB |
Note: The data used by Free Fire per hour has been taken as 32 MB in the table.
Do you need a high-speed internet connection for playing Free Fire?
One does not require a very high-speed internet connection for playing Free Fire.
An internet speed of about 1-2 MB per second can deliver a decent gaming experience in Free Fire.
Is Internet speed linked with lag in Free Fire?
In most cases of lag in Free Fire, it is generally the internet speed that causes it.
Hence, the internet speed is associated with lag in Free Fire.
However, there might be some cases where the internet speed of the user is not the real cause of the lag.
Conclusion
In this article, I've answered one of the most important questions regarding the data usage of Free Fire.
I've also answered some related questions.
